A directional multispectral forest reflectance model has been developed in the group of vegetation remote sensing at Tartu Observatory. The first version of the model was published by Nilson, T. and Peterson, U.: A forest canopy reflectance model and a test case, Remote Sens. Environment, 37:131-142 (1991).

The model is coded in Fortran.
The August 2003 version of the model is on the included CD-ROM of Liang,
S. Quantitative Remote Sensing of Land Surfaces, Wiley, 2004.
The current version (Version 12.2024) is of 31.12.2024.
